Literature Text

Wake up, I kneel here beside your bed.
I slip my tiny fingers through your hands.
I don’t understand what is going on.
You smile at me, when dull sad eyes.
This isn’t who you are.
I can barely recall those days.
To this day, I do not wish to.
That is not the person you were.
To me, you will always be my giant.
To me, you will always be my best friend.
That I plan on never forgetting.
If I were to see you again,
And to be able to say one thing to you.
I wouldn’t.
There is nothing that words,
Would be able to describe how much I miss you.
I would just sit on your lap, staring out over our lake,
And drink our coffee.
So wake up, we never had our final cup.
